I sometimes forget where I'm going too and give the "characters" too much freedom. Then there are the loose threads I find when I finish a story and do that last read through. That's when panic sets in and I realize I have to tie those ends together. This is a great blog and a reminder that the devil is often in the details!

Caroline Clemmons comments on What a Journey.......

Wow, Skhye, great post. You condensed the whole mythic journey into one post. Very helpful. I, too like Joseph Campbell's DVD's. He was an avowed athiest, and I've always wondered if he "got religion" when he knew he was dying. That's nothing to do with his work, of course.
I enjoyed your post.

Ilona Fridl comments on What a Journey.......

Excellent blog, Skhye! I think it's true, that there is no new stories, just different ways of telling them. I happen to be a note taker and as I get ideas, I jot them down. Sometimes in the course of the story some notes get discarded and new ones take their place.

Skhye comments on What a Journey.......

Thanks, Beth, Margaret, & Mary!
